As I already said, creating a coreography for a modern music is harder than creating a coreography for classic music.
It might seem absurd, but classic dance already has some fixed steps, everybody know them and enjoy them.
Instead, a program created on modern music needs a great fantasy, otherwise it might result insipid.
What's your opinion about it, Lilywang?

Alyson I agree with you that it´s harder, but it´s also harder to create a choreography for figure skating than for dancing. You have to be an figure skating expert, which Marina, obviously, isn´t. Nothing Evgeni is doing in this program suits him, in my opinion, all the contrary, he is doing things which should never appear in a competitive program: too much posing, no transitions, his arms move faster than his feet, chaotic upper- body movements, etc. I simply don´t get where is the choreography.

К сожалению у Жени был один номер. Как он нам потом сказал на встрече,так было решено заранее организаторами(((((
На этот раз мы конкретно запаслись игрушками,букетами роз .Кидали,орали с разных сторон.
Основная наша группа сидела на противоположном от меня секторе,я же сидела на первом ряду и поэтому смогла повесить свой огромный баннер.
Когда объявили Женю,зал ему аплодировал,хорошо встречал,мы тоже кричали,поддерживали как могли. Когда наступила полная тишина перед номером,Женя проезжал мимо моей трибуны,я громко крикнула ему: "Женя-ты лучший" ! Девушки распределили так,чтоб с разных сторон всё летело.
Женя по-моему был очень растроган такому приему в Питере.

Девочки, спасибо вам, что так здорово поддержали Женю! В Москве Женю не позвали на показалки, хотя он везде говорил, что хочет выступить и он как никто другой, это заслужил. Теперь в Питере дают только один номер прокатать, прям дискриминация какая-то очень обидно за Женю, но радует, что он в хорошем настроении, не сдается и готов вернуться не смотря ни на что.

Посмотрела новый номер и пока слегка прифигела, очень хороший выбор песни, новые хореофишечки у Жени классные, но как то на любительской записи не очень все видно, буду ждать телеверсию.

I meant: to create a classical choreography for figure skating is easier than creating a modern choreography for figure skating.

Oh, of course, you´re right! Personally I´m not very excited about Marina, Evgeni needs a figure skating choreographer, or at least he should try to work again with Yuri Smekalov.

I definitely agree with you that creating choreography for modern music is harder than creating choreography for classic music since there is no foundation to rely on. That is why a very good choreographer is extremely important to make this kind of music work and connect to the audience. But her product does not seem to have it. Just compare this program with "Malade" that we all love, the contrast is obvious. A lot of standstills and posing but no memorable moments, the dancing and the skating is not connected at all. The choreophy does not fit figure skating in particular. A skater needs to skate, cover the whole ice in movements while performing dance movements. In "Malade" every moment is PERFECT . Anyone know who choreographed it?

Plushy's another old program "Moonlight Sonata" had a modern classic flavor in it, and it was very well choreographed. I think the choreographer was Sergei Petukhov, who choreographed for ice dancers? I think he also choreographed the very modern "Godfather", it has a lot of interesting steps and movements, and the results are electrifying!

If Evgeni wants a successful comeback he should chose his choreographer wisely. I don´t know why he wants a Russian choreographer,there are a lot of good choreographers outside Russia.
