:plush42: Well, the other Rebecca added me as a friend! :hi_hi_hi: I hope she's not a bad person ::yaz-yk:

I haven't found you, there are over 500 results in the search, and all I could find was a girl from Plainview (?), Texas :-(

HI THERE EVERYONE!!! :ya_hoo_oo:
I have just returned from a short trip to London and going through a major cultural shock :sh_ок: , trying to get back to daily routine....
:plush34:
Anyway, PLEEEEEEASE do me an enormous favour update me on anything really important that must have happened to Plushino dearest during these days ( I didn't have time to log in AT ALL)!
Sosol your Greek title means what Google says but could more freely be translated as: "Someone commited a crime in...Sao Paolo" for instance. (or in the ISA, if you prefer)...Ask any other Greek you like, the Greek Plush-supporting lobby is here for you! :plush45:
I very much like Dark Stars' elaboration on 1+1!!!! Especially, the part about what the politician said :-) ;;-)))
A Greek politician would have said: "I didn't have one so you can't add another 1, but I certainly didn't steal it although I used it for some investment, but I am not sure where 1 is now...blah,blah,blah..." :plush30:
Anyway, all my love to all you friends I missed the forum these days :plush33: and hope to get back on trail!!

Welcome back, Dominique!!! :ki_ss: You travel a lot, woman! Cool :a_g_a: Are you also skating around the world like Plushino?? :mi_ga_et: hehe

Adjusting to routine again is really the worst part about coming back from a trip...I always get that feeling "I'm entering into the Twilight Zone" when I'm back, you know??? hehhehe It's very weird...everytime I come back to Brazil, I especially notice how loud people speak, God, it's annoying!!! :-) The funny thing, of course, is that I myself speak loud, so... :mi_ga_et: I hope everything went well for you in London! How's the weather there?

Thank you for the translation, I think I'll need to use it :-): But I'll probably only have another Greek question for you when I finally start learning Greek (after I retire!!!! :-) ). Here in Brazil people only study ancient Greek, though...which is cool, but when I learn a language, normally I want to use it for any future travels, so...I'd like to learn the modern version if possible ::yaz-yk:

;;-))) What you said about the politicians is sooooo true!!! The brazilian politician, however, would probably say: "Which 1??? That's all a big trap the media wants to frame me in, there has never been a 1, at least not that I know about..never seen it, never heard about it, and most importantly, I don't know anyone who has!!" :mi_ga_et:

There aren't exactly news on the Plushy front. He seems to be recovering from the whole suspension thing, seems to be having fun, eating cherries and sunbathing with Yana on a yatch, taking care of his pets, that sort of thing :co_ol: (you can check the pics at the Twitter topic in "Everything about Evgeni"). Tomorrow he and Yana are flying to Japan, they stay there until the end of the month, he has A LOT of shows scheduled for the next few weeks!!! I never wished so badly to be Japanese... :ny_tik: **Sosol's thinking about buying a kimono and one of those very cool fans that Evgeni didn't stop playing with, to see what's so cool about it** :-)

Hi there sosol!! :son-ce:
The weather in London was... summertime and the living is easy!! :mo-ro_zi_vo: I get the feeling we Greeks trapped a little sun and transported it to UK's capital!
Greek is very difficult. Ancient Greek together with Latin are the true mothers of all languages and worth knowing. However, in this world where everything is purely visual and often superficial they tend to be overlooked. There is a wonderful book by two American University teachers regarding the theme of classic education in the modern world, entitled "Who killed Homer". I'll try to find the authors for you , it's very, very interesting :co_ol: .
The Brazilian politician who attempts to escape being caught seems to be a very, very close friend of some Greek politicians I know.... :ps_ih: You are very right about their way of thinking...
I will join in the strong wish to become Japanese overnight, in order to see Plush skate live :plush32: ....18 shows in Japan!!!! :kli_ny: How lucky can a nation get??? Tell me, for the love of God how lucky can a country be??
Anyway Japan and Korea are booming and blooming markets and Plushino is very right to be skating there. It's a good move :plush45:
He can be as the old 80's song said: "Big In Japan" :-ok-:
By the way, in London I saw the theatrical production based on Queen songs ("We will Rock you") and it was...magical!
all the best

I study ancient Greek and Latin at school, and...well, you're right, ancient Greek is VERY difficult! I don't like studying the verbs, and sometimes, when I have to translate a greek text, the italian result has a completely different sense...and my marks go down! :nez-nayu: latin is also difficult, but it's more similar to italian, so I think it's a bit easier than greek-but many people don't think so. However, I have a crazy teacher who wants us to translate phrases from italian to latin...and she drives us crazy! :kli_ny:

I know, those two languages are the basis for ours and yet nobody studies them, it's really a shame. The government doesn't make any effort to get the kids in contact with them, so the only opportunity we have of studying at least a little bit of them is at university. The problem is, even at university this is dying...thankfully, they're making attempts to revive the interest in these areas! The area in which I graduated used to last 4 years. From the year I joined uni (1999) onwards, though, they turned it into five, because during the first year we have subjects related to Ancient Greece and Rome. I guess they saw the old teachers were dying and there would soon be nobody to take their place and carry on the research, so they wanted to make the students at least a little bit more into it.

And it DOES help to have "crazy" teachers who are really passionate about it!!! :-) I remember the first day of class we entered the classroom and the board was filled with phrases in Greek. The teacher said "Good morning, everyone. We're going to study Greek Theater this semester. Now, let's begin. Read these sentences for me, please." - the whole class started laughing so much, because *obviously* he couldn't expect us to read those "symbols" we didn't know...but he maintained his very serious posture, saying: "What are you laughing about?! You *CAN* read these sentences, you know a lot of greek!! Look...what letter is this?" "Alpha". "See, you recognize it. You also know this one, and this one, and beta, alpha, theta, pi..." - and suddenly the whole class was reading the phrases we thought was impossible :mi_ga_et: :-) Of course it's not easy, but a person who takes it light-heartedly (and yet seriously) like he did makes it all seem much easier and fun and interesting. I learnt a lot from that man (too bad by now I've forgotten everything ::yaz-yk: ), and the Latin/Greek courses from that year onwards were always full. I don't know how things are nowadays, though.

And yes, Japan is lucky...*sigh* Plush must be like a rock star there!!

There's a theatrical production in London about Queen? heheheh That's good to know, maybe someday I'll see it (although I'm not the biggest fan of musicals...)! The other day I watched Queen with Paul Rogers on TV - he's not Freddie, but I don't get why the fans were so angry that Queen wanted to play live again. Geez, the man's dead, but it doesn't mean the rest of them are dead, too...let them play and be happy! :-):

Sosol, Como estas ??? :co_ol: ( Let's hope this phrase is a little bit correct....) :smu:sche_nie:
Your old teacher must have been a very gifted one. It was a brillant idea to begin by showing you that Greek is not as impossible as one may think. I am not surprised the classrooms were full.
The book I was telling you about is: Victor Davis Hanson & John Heath "Who killed Homer? The demise of classical education and the recovery of Greek Wisdom"
And it's not only your government that is not promoting latin and greek, ours is not doing anything either. I remember I was at a congress and this German colleague started talking to me in perfect ancient Greek and I was just staring at him :sh_ок: , I really couldn't follow...
I am not into musicals either, but Queen songs are so wonderful that all spectators were kind of carried away. Apart from the late F. Mercury, I personally really like Brian May- he is a great guitarist and obviously should continue to perform for the sake of rock and it's lovers :bra_vo:
Sosol, we must get kimonos and sneak backstage to Plushy's show... :plush31: ....-Well, it's nice to dream sometimes isn't it?? :plush34:
