May be that you are right. I am very worried. If Evgeni wants to compete, must be a very new things in his skating. Precisely because his career such a long. I read such opinions that Plu always does the same thing. But he must keep his own style. This is difficult. And I don't want that anybody can beat him once more with stupid mathematics. I will try to be patient. :plush21:

Um, I am finally delurking here after reading all the interesting comments on this new program...Just want to say I love the fact that he's experimenting. Personally I do think the specific choreography here still needs a lot more work, but he's only been working on this program for a short while. (I also don't think this is any indication of what his competition programs are going to be like: he has already worked on those a lot longer than he's been working on this.) And one cannot expect to get everything perfectly right from the first, that's the whole point of experiments!

With this specific program, I love the song choice (again confirmation that Evgeni has absolutely great taste in music), and I like the general feeling that I think he's trying to go for. Somehow to my imagination, calling it a "combat version of Caruso" is not bad at all, because if I were to interpret the song myself, I'd say the key phrase is "soldiers of love": it's about love and reaching out, but it's a battle to do so. And it's a hard rock band, so I think some kind of "harshness" in the movement is actually appropriate. It would be good to have more skating, and perhaps more thoughts on the arm movements, but I don't know, even more "boldness" may still work somehow.

And with Caruso, I get the feeling that recently Evgeni is also using Caruso to experiment with new things? Caruso is a much more fluid and "softer" program, yet with a strong powerful emotional core. It would be interesting if this program turns out to be the flip side of Caruso on some level, fierce on the outside and tender within... (Sorry, this is all very idealistic and vague and do not necessarily make sense :plush38:

)

faith in him! 2 me he doesn't have 2 prove
anything anymore, as long as he enjoys his
his skating & he's eager to compete again,
I'm happy! Besides he was simply skating a
show number!! If he doesn't experiment in
those, where else?!

Yay for delurking whitebamboo! I agree with sarahjev that Plushy doesn't want to do a program simply to please the judges. And I'm so grateful that he keeps pushing the boundaries. That's what makes figure skating exciting...and artistic. The other competitors might be out there to win at any cost, Plushy's love of skating is deeper than the narrow goal of winning. Plus, since he's already proved himself with an illustrious career and he's so good that he can still win while doing new things, he can really afford to experiment. I'm also hopeful that once he returns to steady competition, the judges will have to acknowledge his skill and artistry. His reputation's pretty formidable. After all, they did give him silver at the Olys after 3 yrs away and less than a yr's prep. They also changed the scoring system following the Olympics and I'm sure that had much to do with Plushy's criticisms. Yes they did ban him after...but I think now they're even. So let's see what exciting competition programs Plushy ends up developing!

Для большинства фигуристов показательные выступления в Ледовом – последний официальный выход на публику в сезоне. Вот только как следует отдохнуть, никто не сможет. Из-за переноса чемпионата мира времени на отпуск у спортсменов практически не осталось. Им уже пора продумывать новые программы.
